Himesh Reshammiya has been always associated with a certain template of Sad/Romantic tunes that defines a certain path of heart break. For Rohit Shetty's much anticipated "Bol Bachchan", a new forte (read Comedy) has been explored as far as Himesh's music is concerned. Having started with Vishal-Shekhar, Rohit Shetty has stuck with Pritam for his previous comedy ventures and has even tried Ajay-Atul for his action flick Singham, but surprisingly Ajay-Atul only gets to compose one song out of the four originals leaving rest three to Himesh. Can he deliver? Well, let's check out!
The title song "Bol Bachchan" starts with an ode to Amitabh Bachchan's (AB) 'My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves' with AB leading the vocals alongside Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan supporting with their dialogues and chorus. The arrangements are poor and have nothing to boast about, the lyrics by Farhad-Sajid tries hard to sound funny but fails. The only good thing about this track is AB's powerful vocals and the way he end the song saying "The Whole Country of the System Yeh Hai Ki Hum Film Me Hai Nahi, Sirf Naam Hai Humara, Bachchan !", not to mention the lavishly shot promotional video with the star power that will give enough publicity to the movie. Himesh Reshammiya includes a short antara in the voice of Mamta Sharma which seems unnecessary and seriously hated the 'Pendulummm' part by Vineet Singh. Average work as offers absolutely nothing as an audio alone! Things become more complicated as one hears "Bol Bachchan Remix" by DJ A.Sen and DJ Amann Nagpal. Some usual western beats are added and everything else from singers to arrangements remains the same. Skip!
Himesh Reshammiya minus the Nasal Voice, that defines "Chalao Na Naino Se , the second track where Himesh comes behind the mike and sorry to say his voice doesn't suits the comedy genre neither the actor Ajay Devgan on whom it is being picturised. Shabbir Ahmed does well in parts with the writing, especially in the antara’s, but still lacks the freshness. Shreya Ghoshal does some damage control with her voice but to no avail. If that wasn't enough, here comes "Chalao Na Naino Se Remix" by DJ Sheizwood with irritating arrangements and beats. Is it necessary to include a Remix of every song that Himesh composes?

Mohit Chauhan and Chartbusters are almost synonymous to each other since his inception in Bollywood..But "Jab Se Dekhi Hai" is only for Himesh die-hard fans and listener's looking for THE Mohit Chauhan number will be highly disappointed and disgusted. It seems to be a hangover from 'Dangerous Ishq' which sadly couldn't qualify for it, so is included in Bol Bachchan and suffers from 'Ishq Me Ruswa' (Dangerous Ishq) loop. Although Sameer has written more profound numbers for Himesh earlier but this time it’s the usual 'Million Times Heard Before' stuff from both of them. The Tabla is lame and irritates with the listeners shouting for something fresh and innovative. Disappointed, Listen only if you are a diehard fan of Himesh! Just controlling my emotions I lay my hands on "Jab Se Dekhi Hai Remix" by Teenu Arora and immediately pressed the SKIP button! Need any more words?
Himesh Reshammiya fails completely as far as innovation is concerned. Composing for a comedy flick is not an easy task and it's certainly not the genre that belongs to Himesh and he should stick to what he does best as a composer and as a singer too. Although Ajay-Atul scores a century with their guest composition but it lacks the mass appeal. Don't bother giving a hear to Bol Bachchan; simply wait for the music release of 'Cocktail' which promises some chart scorcher stuff!
